Our Story

Sakshi Handloom: A Legacy Woven in Threads

The journey of Sakshi Handloom started in 1991 in the beautiful city of Sambalpur, Odisha—a haven for those who cherish the timeless artistry of the best Sambalpuri ikat silk sarees. Sakshi Handloom is a story that boasts passion, dedication, and a deep respect for the centuries-old weaving traditions of the region.

It all began with a handful of looms, which soon blossomed into a renowned name synonymous with authentic Sambalpuri sarees.  Over the years, we have dedicatedly practised our craft, mastering the art of Ikat – a technique where threads are dyed before weaving, creating breathtaking geometric patterns.  Each saree, especially the Best Sambalpuri Ikat Silk Sarees, is a whole new story and piece of art that shows the dedication of their skilled weavers, who pour their hearts and souls into every creation.

The driving force behind Sakshi Handloom’s success is a passion for colour. Inspired by the vibrant patterns that adorn traditional Sambalpuri sarees, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Shahri established the company in 1991. The vision was to create a space where these exquisite textiles could be cherished and shared with the world.

Our Mission

Sakshi Handloom’s mission is to bridge the gap between these exquisite sarees and a global audience. We want every woman worldwide to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship woven into each thread of a genuine Sambalpuri saree.  By establishing a strong online presence, we aim to share this rich legacy and make the magic of Sambalpuri sarees accessible to all.
