A masterpiece of Sambalpuri craftsmanship, this exquisite light off-white and red tissue saree showcases the timeless beauty of Jhoonti Phool and Alpana Bandha motifs created through the rare and highly skilled Opposite Bandha (Chadala Bandha) technique.
Unlike conventional bandha where tying is done on white yarn, this unique Sambalpuri process involves tying on coloured yarns first, followed by bleaching and dyeing, allowing the darker bandha motifs to emerge beautifully against the lighter tani (warp) and buna (weft) after weaving. This intricate and labour-intensive technique is found almost exclusively in Sambalpur and is practiced by only a handful of master craftsmen.
The luxurious tissue body lends an ethereal sheen, while the rich tissue pata (border and aanchal) enhances the saree with sophistication, grandeur, and unmistakable exclusivity.
